Sam is Lead Web Developer at RedCore Digital.

He does two jobs here. The first is building websites: custom WordPress, PHP where an off-the-shelf option won’t cut it, and the work underneath a site that decides whether it loads quickly, holds up on a phone, and can still be updated by the client six months later.

The second is the reason a lot of SEO work never actually lands. Most agencies hand over a list of technical recommendations and hope someone else implements them. Here, the SEO team briefs Sam and Sam does the work. Redirects, site speed, schema, crawl and indexation issues, Core Web Vitals, template changes. It gets done, and it gets done by someone who understands why it was asked for.

His view is that most agency websites are slow because they’re assembled from plugins rather than built. He’d rather write the code once and have it do exactly what it needs to do.
